SCT tuner worth it?

The thing would be really great if you understand all the parameters you can adjust yourself. No instructions for that. There are alot of options you can do yourself but I guess most guys just buy tunes. I traded in my 08 and got a new 5.0. I was not able to set the tuner back to the original tune on the car as the buyer didn't want me to. Now to get the tuner reset so I can use it on my 5.0 SCT want's 150 bucks to do it. That's a joke as far as I'm concerned. You need the thing for your upgrades. The CAI looks cool but I believe is overrated.

Think ahead!
When you get the 4.10 gears you'll need it or your speedometer will be off.
p.s. who'd you order the intake from? they'll give you a tune for that, and you don't need to adjust for the cat backs.

I actually just got the K&N filter, I don;t really plan on modding to much. I just had a car that made 515 rwhp and even though it was fun it was expensive. So the Mustang is just going to have a few bolt ons, are the 22 HP gains true with the SCT Tuner? Even on a mainly stock car?

A GOOD CUSTOM tune alone on your '10 should make roughly 10-15 RWHP. Add the CAI and the combo should make 15-20. It's less on the '10 compared to the '05-'09 standard GT's (non-Bullitt) since the '10 already has the Bullitt tune.

Alright I just ordered the SCT Tuner from American muscle with free tunes for life, Mainly because I feel the throttle response is too boggy especially in the 5 speed. Any expectations on my increases?
K&N Filter
Pypes mid muffler cat back exhaust
SCT tuner
I'd be pretty stoked to get another 20 rwhp, is it plausible?

Expect 15 or more on your '10 if the tunes are right. If that's a K&N drop-in, then you won't get any more from it. If it's a CAI you may get closer to 20 if you're tuned for it. 20 might be expecting too much.

You'll be happy with the AM tunes. I always recommend taking a spirited drive before loading the tunes, then immediately load the lowest octane tune first and repeat the drive, then again for the next tune and so forth. You'll appreciate what each tune feels like that way and may decide that a lower octane tune (than your highest) is more suited to your DD style. Each tune has it's own characteristics and response throughout the RPM band.
