+ 1 million.

I didn't use a transmission hoist because I used to swap T-5's in and out of 5.0s by laying on my back and just using my own strength to move them. Not the case with the S197. The tranny sits much deeper and more inaccessibly into the tunnel. I wound up using a spare hydraulic jack rigged with a board and some chains. I WON'T be doing that again.

+1 on the tranny lift will NOT EVER attempt this again wihtout one but everything is in place, i just cant get the damn clutch pedal to not sink to the ground ive tried pumping it a million times and it wont work, when i disconnected the the fluid line a bit of fluid came out enough to put the level right above the "min" line, perhaps i should add more?

You've got to bleed the air out of the system that's all. You'll need to pull vacuum on the system from the reservoir fill. If you don't have the instructions let me know.
fyi: here's an earlier thread on bleeding the clutch
