Transmission Service

Transmission Service
So I took my car to the dealer last month to get my oil changed tires rotated etc. They informed me that my transmission needed to be serviced at 30,000 miles. Mine is 3,000 miles over.... The guy working service has called me twice in the last two weeks trying to set up an appointment to get this done. My car has been well maintained and took care of. I have noticed the "sealed" transmission factor and the fluid needs to be changed but I'm surrounded by Fords and Chevys where I live and talked to a few neighbors about this. One owns a 08 Equinox with a "sealed" transmission he tells me that GM suggests the servicing for him around 50,000. Another neighbor has a F-250 he says Ford wants his done every 30,000 due to the fact that he pulls trailers with tons of weight on them everyday. Now mine is a 08 GT with hardly no mods just K&N intake and SCT tune my question is getting it changed at 30,000 a must have for me?

If you do have them service it, be sure to have them check the muffler bearings, too.
What does the OM say? I truly believe they want your $$ and that your tranny should be fine at least to 50k-60k miles before even thinking about servicing. And if you did your own oil changes (and who the heck has the dealer perform tire rotation?) you wouldn't have to deal with their bullcrap.

Problem is I dont have bankers hours I dont work 8-5 everyday. 10 hour days for 5 days is lucky week for me. So weekends is full with side jobs I do for extra cash, having someone do my oil and rotate my tires is well worth the $29. I'm thinking their out for my money for the transmission. If it was showing signs of a problem it would be worth getting done just in case but no problems with it so far.

Nuke's right.
Those modern slush boxes are bullet proof nowadays.
I went 100.000 on my F150 and the fluid was still perfectly clear (well, red clear )
Changed the filter, refilled it and back on the road it went.
