You may need a tach adapter.

I'm going to throw my .02 in.

I have my shift light on my A pillar and it is really bright and easy to use. But it is not in a place that makes it easy to watch when making passes at th track. There is so much going on in your head and when combined the nbarrow view of the helmet and concentrating on shifting, it's hard to watch the light. I am so used to watching my tach I tend to only do that. I wish I had stuck the shift light somewhere between the steering wheel and the gear shift. I think it would be much easier to see.

After I get my 2 step hooked up again I can block the tach with something so I am forced to rely on the shift light.
