Default BBK Headers Installation question?

Is engine removal necessary to install a header?

Nope, but you will have to remove some parts, the more you remove the easier it is.

At the minimum you need to jack the motor off the mounts and remove those. the steering shaft has to go as well. Some folk remove the starter (I didn't).

It may sound like a pain but it will make the install alot easier. Also a bit of advice I would buy better gaskets. I had a bad experince with the gaskets that came with my headers.

You have to, have to, remove the motor mounts...it makes the install so much easier, also, make sure you shave down two of the bolts or else you'll run into problems

Removing the motor would make a whole raft of jobs easier but why would you? LOL
I never had a problem with the gaskets so far but I did end up having to run jam nuts onto the studs where the headers bolt to the downpipe, mine originally kept coming loose.
