Default Conversion from Auto to Stick.

Is it worth considering? I know a lot of you are gonna say "Buy a stick, problem solved." But lets say the car has some sentimental value to me. What am i looking at here? Cost, time, etc.

IMO, more than it's worth from what I have read. I would hate to have to install the extra clutch pedal and the hydraulics.

Why would you want to do that?

I would just put on a new TC and a TCI Ratchet.

Yeah this is what I was thinking. Spruce up the auto...?

I traded my 08 because it WAS a manual. The Tremec is a POS in my opinion. Assuming your car is an 08 like your sig says, stick with the auto and buy a tune for the car...it'll outperform the manual in a drag race (and everyday driving in stop and go traffic) and save you tons of money.

The TCI ratchets look cool but I've been holding off because I've read some bad reviews about the circuit boards being bad on or shortly after install. Does anyone know if the new ones are better quality?

+1 You can always drive your auto as a manual BTW.. when you feel like it. The stock auto shifter kinda sucks because 1 to 2nd gear doesn't lock, it's easy to push it too hard and skip gears.. but you can and it's fun. 1,2,3, D (4th), OD (5th).

Yeah, that's what I do when I want to have some fun. Turn the O/D switch off and run through the gears manually. Usually this is when I'm at the front of the line at a traffic light and have a clear run ahead. The Brenspeed 93 tune really rocks! I wish Ford had included a gear indicator light on the dash to make this easier. I mostly drive in congested urban traffic and didn't want to deal with a manual.

I think you would have more of a headache if you tried to switch it out unless you are mechanically inclined and have the room to take it down.

I have 4 Fords that are Autos so I had to have at least one Manual for fun.....that is the Mustang.
