Well then from mechanic to mechanic I highly recommend the Hot Rod Cams. I put mine in last winter and have about 3k miles on them with a Brenspeed tune and the car runs awesome. Nice choppy idle, never stalls, great power, no bogging, instant power. Lights the tires up through 3rd gear. Fun as hell to drive.

FRPP cams are cheaper then Thumprs plus phaser limiters.

I've heard both the Detroit Rockers and Thumpr's in person ( I have thumpr's installed at Brenspeed ) and I rode in Chandler's car who has the DR's installed.

He did have near to perfect idle, with a nice lil lope and his driveability was smooth as hell. Best way I can describe the sound was a half way mix between stock and the thumprs.

I run the Thumpr's and personally love them. Yes, under 2k wants to hesitate slightly but it only takes 10 minutes driving it to get used to it and adjust for it. I drive in stop and go rushhour traffic with zero issues, you just adapt your driving style. Far as sound, hands down, there is no meaner idle / WOT. The FRPP's are wicked sounding too, but have a slightly higher tone.

That varies depending on the cam itself, Comp has a entire line up of different kinds off top of my head.

But you can generally consider 20 to 30 horses from just the cams alone.

I read somewhere that when you do a cam you should update your gears to 3.73 or higher in order to maintain the drivability of the car. Can someone chime in on this. I am also looking to do the cams as well, but am alos torn between the Comp (thumpr), FRPP, and the BrenSpeed Cam. I want ease of driving, POWER and sound.

I have the Detroit Rocker Cam that brenspeed offers and i personally think its a great bolt on. The sound is great with the Flowmasters. Good gains in hp also. To the above poster yes u should get 373 or 410 if your going to get cammed
