Default Cloth Vs Vinyl TOP

I started a thread a while back asking if anyone thought my wife's 2010's vinyl top would get replaced due to cracks, well the dealer replaced the top but they replaced it with a cloth top not a vinyl one. So I need opinions on keeping the top or making them order a vinyl one. I have no clue as to the pros and cons of either material. It is garaged but is driven daily so it gets a good amount of sun.

Thanks

Cloth is far superior. I had to pay extra to get it. Congrats!

Keep the top....you got a sweet deal out of that! If I had things to do over again I would have opted for the cloth top AND paid for it.

Thanks for the info guys. Since I started this thread I have done some research and found that the cloth is the way to go.

There's definately a reason the vinyl top is cheaper than cloth. Apart from them lasting less than half the time of cloth, they look like ***.

cloth top is an UPGRADE!
if you're a stickler for clean tops get one of those lint rollers to remove stuff from it.

There are possible shiny issues in certain areas if you use a cover, and it seems pretty easy to see the metal frame underneath it.
Solution= keep the top down as much as possible.

I've had both types of top... each has its own advantages. Cloth seems less susceptible to cuts/tears, but collects lint/dust/pollen/etc. like crazy. Also, in the folds, the cloth rubbing against itself can lead to a "burnished" appearance which looks kinda funky. Vinyl is more susceptible to cuts/tears, but is a bit easier to keep clean.

Both types require routine maintenance to look their best. The only right answer is what's best for YOU.
