Default Winterizing your tuned car???

Got a question for the guys up north. Do you leave the intake and performance tune on all winter? Seems like to me, it would be a good idea to put the stock airbox on and return it to the factory tune. V is a dailey driver for me and goes everywhere I do, and in the winter in WV theres alot of crappy weather to drive through (advantage factory airbox), and the auto lag might not be a bad thing in a little snow...and in the snow, there ain't no go, so what's the point in leaving the stuff on?
Just was wondering if anyone has done this routine on a regular basis and what (if any) the effects were on the engine...definatley wouldn't mind buying 87 octane again for a few months until the weather cleared up in the spring.
THx for the info!

I will be switching my 06 GT auto back to stock for the winter. The throttle is a bit too sensitive for piece of mind for me during winter driving while tuned. Hoping to purchase a beater within the next month or so from my father, then I'll no longer have to worry about winter in the stang.

I've had people tell me that they used to tune back to 87 and then over the years get lazy to do it. I think it's really personal preference and where you live and what you have to deal with. I'm planning on sticking with 93 and have a set of winter tires. I do agree the auto throttle does get touchy, and with winter weather, it can be worse. I will see how it goes and decide. My 87 won't be stock tune though so I am not anticipating much of a difference for the winter. If the weather is bad, I won't be traveling or be sharing a beater.

I have airraid and 93 tune and i leave it in the winter. Never any problems. But of course if there is too much snow i leave it parked. I have the luxury of choosing which days i want to drive it in the winter b/c i work out of state and the company provides my transportation

I suspect it would be a personal preference as stated above. I wouldn't revert back to stock if my Stang was my DD but I would probably load the 87 custom tune since it still runs circles around the stock tune. That way I could still have the best of both worlds.
