AXLE RATIO DIFFERENCES
#11
Thank you everyone,
The base on the GT Premium (400a package) comes with 3.31 axle ratio, and if you add a 3.55 or a 3.73 the price increases 395US. The problem is not the 395, it is mostly if I will really feel the difference and if the mileage is really a factor from 3.31 to 3.73 since I will not use the car in TRACKS, it will be a daily drive or a weekend drive only.
Thank you
LCL

As for the mileage, as people said, it barely hits the mileage of the car. Personally if I were in your shoes I'd go 3.73. Unfortunately I got an auto with a craptastic 3.15 ratio with no option to upgrade

To be honest, I really do believe you'll feel a difference at 3.73 rather than 3.31. I mean in any case, it's going to push you into your seat, but a higher axle ratio will definitely let you feel it even more on those quick accels.

I highly recommend you get a 3.73 vs a 3.31. Try to see if they have one available on the lot with both gearsets for you to try.
Please forgive me for this cynical statement, but why buy a GT if you are going to slow it down with a 3.31? You might as well buy a V6 if acceleration is not important.

Check out this gear calculator here. I think its a pretty good tool to get an idea of what kind of engine speeds you will see.

Very helpful and straight to the point, I appreciated all inputs, it really helps us making educated decisions, thanks to you guys.
Take care and 3.73 is going to be.
Drive safe,
