2011 GT traction control button question
Getting ready to get a 2011 GT Premium, Brembo brakes, HID headlights & Security Package, 3.73 gear, Comfort Group and white paint. I think I read somewhere that if you push the traction control button once, it selects Sports mode. Is this correct?

There are three possible TCS settings: On, Sport Mode, and Off.
On is simply push once and it turns on, or if it is already on, push once to turn off.
To turn on Sprot Mode, you have to be at a stop, press the brake in, and double tap the TCS button just like you double click a mouse button.
You will see "Sport Mode" read in the tach message board.

You don't have to be stopped to engage sport mode. You can be at any speed and barely touch the brakes, double tap the button, and you've got sport mode. I drive with that 90% of the time. The other 10% is because I've forgotten to turn it on.

There are actually 4 modes:
Traction Control On & AdvanceTrac On: Default
Traction Control Off & AdvanceTrac On: Single Button Press
Traction Control On & AdvanceTrac On: Sport Mode Double Button Press with Brakes
Traction Control Off & AdvanceTrac Off: Button Press 5 sec with Brakes.
This is on the premium coupe. (Not sure if that matters)

"According to Ford, AdvanceTrac uses sensors to detect and measure side-to-side skidding conditions.
It does this by monitoring the vehicle's speed, throttle position and steering wheel angle.
When AdvanceTrac senses wheel slippage, it reduces engine torque and applies the brakes as needed."
Read about it in this months 5.0 mag.
It lets you mash the gas to the floor into,
thru and out of a turn.
It modulates the power to the maximum
allowed for the grip you have available.
