Should have got a 2011 V6 instead. You might have felt some benefit over your Altima with that model. 2010- V6 stangs are just slow from the factory.

Wait, you bought a V6 and thought it was going to be fast?
I must say, when I bought my GT back in the day the salesman tried to sell me a V6 because it "only had 0.6L less displacement and shouldn't be that much slower" What did your salesman tell you?

The 4.0 isn't a big power maker and the auto zaps it even more. Your only solution is the CAI & custom tune unless you go FI. I really wonder why anyone would buy a '10 V6 with the '11 V6 putting out so much more power,

My stock V6 has plenty of power. I drop the hammer and it disappears. Mine is a vert too which is heavier. These cars have plenty of power stock and I never EVER worry about pulling out in traffic. It's not blindingly fast but it throws me back into my seat whenever it needs to.

I have a 2010 V6 automatic as well and its pretty slow. Got some dual pipes they felt like it added just a small amount of power and better sound.
But the I got the SCT tuner from American Muscle and tuneable induction CAI and it made a big difference.
I'd go with those mods unless you want to sink $$ into the ride. For around $1,000.00 it'll be much more fun to drive.

Well the real problem is the stock throttle lag. A cai w/tune will fix that up abit. Take a look at the C&L CAI w/SCT tune combo on american muscle. 3.73 gears with a t-loc on an 8.8 rear will also help alot. Check out this one from NTO http://www.newtakeoff.com/mustang_v6...373_ratio.aspx.

There are 10000+ ways to make your v6 faster. Some are more wothwhile than otherrs, as you will find out soon enough. CAIs w/tunes and gears are some of the "best bang for the buck" mods you can get, so check those out first.

Ok so the consensus seems for me to buy a Cold Air Intake and SF3 Tuner from American Muscle.

I'm on the website but I only see CAI and SF3 Tuner Combos for the 2010 GT. I dont see any options for 2010 V6.

Am I missing something??

Honestly what did you expect? There is a reason why it's called the base model. Up until the Camaro came back Ford had no reason to push the envelope with the 6.

There is plenty of throttle lag in an automatic stock from the Ford. The stock tune is far too mild. If you want to get rid of throttle lag, you need to get a custom tune. CAI will add more to wake the car up. 4.10 gear will help deliver the torque faster.

OP,

Get a Cold Air Intake and Custom Tune. I have an 08 V6 with the same engine. It was sloooow until I got a cold air intake and custom tune. Woke that ****** right up!

American Muscle has some great combo kits for you to check out.

I'd also convert your ride to dual exhaust too. I added the CAI and tune first, then did the dual exhaust conversion. I noticed that the conversion to dual exhaust really helped me get more out of the CAI and tune.

As others have mentioned too, upgrading your gears from the stock 3:31's to something more aggressive, like 3:73's with a traction lock will really help in that "get up and go" department.

And if money isn't an issue, supercharge your mustang The Explorer Express X-Charger Super Charger gets a lot of great reviews from the V6 guys around here.

I hope this helps.
