Is the Saleen new (leftover)? I'd probably go with that regardless, it looks so good. (Co-worker has a red one...). I'm seeing more and more problems crop up with the 5.0's, first year and all.

Tough call. If you really like the look of the Saleen it would be hard to pass up. But I'll admit the Saleen seats are horrendous. The people on the Saleen forum will say otherwise, but they're wrong . In 2008 they got a little better, but not by much.

Also keep in mind that the Supercharged Saleen came with 465HP. Wouldn't take much to get a 5.0 to that power naturally aspirated. So the Saleen would start with more power, but less room to grow unless you beef up the internals.

I love the look of the Saleen (obviously lol). But there are a lot of options to make the 5.0 badass.

Before deciding, you should also check on the status of the Saleen/Ford warranty. Mine supposedly had it still, but when the motor blew, Ford would not honor it saying that it didn't exist and wouldn't have mattered since it was a performance car and I could have driven it abusively.

Anyways, good luck with your decision. Either way, you'll be very happy I think.

Thanks siggy for that bit of information. I've been trying to find the thread where it lists the problems that the 5.0 has but couldn't find it. I'll be checking both cars out in the coming week.

I wouldn't consider the Saleen for more than a second. The '11 GT is the more refined, better-handling car. It's also warrantied, much better looking inside and out, and you don't have to worry about what the previous owner did to it.

Skullbusa that shouldn't be a problem as it only has 24 miles on it.
