Default too much??

Well JDM called me yesterday and my install got pushed back AGAINNNN!!!! They told me their tuner is out for that weekend, and they have other appointments to finish. WHATEVER!!! I also wanted to confirm on the price that they originally told me was $275, and now he said its $600 with lube and oils (I have my own gears). I just find this aggravating cause I know for a fact they told me $275 but the ******* answering the phone probably read something wrong the first time. Is $600 too expensive? I know they have a good rep. but $600 just seems a little high.

That is high for a gear install and you providing the parts.

Unless this is some very known reputable 100% guarantee no whine shop, I would go find someone else. It's ridiculous for them to keep pushing back appointments.

They are a very reputable shop, as they specialize in just ford performance vehicles. They even work with roush and have their own racing team. I'm not sure what to do as I have no other place that I know of.

Down here in VA we have a very good shop and they will supply the gears and install for $450.

Have you spoken with them about your dissatisfaction? I would just tell them that you're frustrated that they keep pushing your date out, and that you believe their install price is not what was originally quoted. Send an email and follow up with a phone call. Ask them to confirm what was said via email.

Too bad you don't have an email of the original quote .

Just walk, but tell them you are and why and yes, copy the sentiments via email.

I don't beg anyone to take my money, there are plenty of other guys waiting in line for that privilege ! A seller messes with me just Once and he's dead to me.

Its not the first time I've heard of them pushing back install dates. I would find some other shop personally. I know there are some others in your area that people here have recommended. I paid about $600 installed for the gears on my 09, and that was for labor and all parts, including a bearing kit. They were flawless and never whined (done at Lone Star Performance in Dallas, which doesn't help you much).

I agree with Marcus, find someone who wants your money. Your piddly gear install is obviously small beans to them...

Yeah I called real speed in Long Island which is 1hr & 40mins from me, but they are worth a shot if there cheaper and a few people also recommended them on here. It just pisses me off that I was happy I found a cheap reputable shop and now I get this and also hear its close to $10k from them to get a whipple installed including all parts gauges pods etc.

They seem to be a knowledgeable shop, but you are not the first person I've seen on here complaining about pushed back appointments and conflicting stories unfortunately...
