Universal Turbo Systems
The biggest issue you will run into here is that there aren't very many turbo kits for these cars. Most Mustang guys are supercharger fanatics, and so that is what the aftermarket industry will make.
When it comes to superchargers, most companies produce "tuner" kits, which are just the most basic parts you will need for the install. The rest is up to you. With turbo kits, it isn't usually quite that simple. Because turbo kits are few and far between, it may not be financially viable for these companies to produce the cheaper tuner kits.
The only thing I can really see holding you back from piecing together a turbo kit would be decent turbo exhaust manifolds. From what I can find, I don't know of any companies that sell them by themselves (without a full turbo kit). If you can get the headers, you would then have the option of picking up a turbo, and then having an exhaust shop fab up the piping for you.
Look at it this way. The money you would spend on having a shop fab up the piping via trial and error, purchasing a quality turbo, exhaust manifolds, fuel injectors, possible fuel pump/boost-a-pump, etc, etc, may be better spent on a complete turbo kit. Even if you can piece together a complete kit for cheaper than the going rate, you then need to pay someone hundreds of dollars to spend hours to build a tune for you. It's probably cheaper to just buy a kit.

Heh. I'm not smart enough to do this on my own. I'll have C&M do it for me here. I suppose I could leave him responsible for this but I'd rather drop a kit off at his place. Here is one.

My wife made a good point. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a turbocharger, why not just get a whole new engine?
I don't think she thought I'd look it up.

^^ you going carburated??
..
if you're serious about making some insane power, I'd go with the Brenspeed 302 and a Hellion turbo, as well as reinforcing the trans and some suspension work to really make that thing hook!
