You could try filing a claim but I don't think they'd buy the "My car got attacked by a dog" story!

But just for the record, what gear were you in when that happened? Park?

My sis has a similar problem except hers actually broke in half. Drop it into low and there is about a 2" gap in front of the shifter.

Anyone know how the shifter comes apart? Or will I have to replace the whole thing because of one crappy part?

If it can be repaired, anyone know the part number for the plastic slider?

Take your shifter apart and fit it man its very easy to do. No real skills needed

It didn't pop out, it tore into 2 separate pieces.

The slider piece needs to be replaced, that's why I asked for a part number.

Try a junk yard and work on disassembling that one. Take your buddy. If he's anything like 99% of dog people then he feels responsible, lol. It's like having a child, only worse.
