mustang v6 electrical problem! help!
This is my first post here; thanks in advance for any advice!
I have a 2008 v6 (love it too much) but recently I noticed that the lights on my car (interior and headlights) flicker randomly when the car is on idle; they won't go off completely but dim in an out.
Have you guys experienced this problem before? can you guys give me some advice on what to check before going to the dealer (I have a feeling that they will rape me with labor fees)
Thanks!

and 135 amps @ max RPMs.
First thing to check is the battery connections.
Under the red cover on mine there was a corrosion factory hiding there.
A big ol fuzzy ball of green corrosion eating the battery connection.
Check that first.
And check for voltage drop accross the post to
terminal connection under load(flickering condition).
Mine flicker somewhat also. Dont fret. As the alternators amperage output
increases the voltage increases as well. Up to 14.1 Volts at times.
What you perceive as being 'flickering' is just the voltage going back down to 'normal'.
Volt meter and look for voltages over 12.8 volts at idle with 'flickering'
conditions present.
This is how the Dealer would go about diagnosing the problem.

With the car idling, ideally, the voltage will hang a little over 14v. Sometimes it will dip below it, causing some flicker. If you have other issues as well, including certain CELs, the alternator may be on the verge of failing.
My interior lights started flickering, and i was getting occasional CELs as well; changing the alternator solved the issue. This is on a 4.6L though. The voltage would drop to the low 13's and cause some of the camshaft sensor codes to show up.

Thank you guys. I went to autozone and they did a load test. The autozone guy told me that eveything is ok; but the weird thing is that my lights are working perfectly so go figure! He told me that the problem may be the alternator regulator.
Also I don't see water leaks. Man this sucks I was about to start doing some mods to my car.
