Yet Another Hurst Short Throw Shifter Thread

to the OP!! take the (3) 1/4-20 allen head bolts out that bolts the two pieces together and then put some locktite on them. mine came all the way out and my shifter fell apart. the same thing happened to a friend of mine who liveS 4 miles from me but his bolts did not fall out on the road. he just lost all of his h pattern. i had to actually wedge my shifter forward close to it's actual position and managed to get 2nd and 4th. i called hurst but they really did nothing and they said it has never happened before. what B.S.!!!

there are 3 allen head bolts that are countersunk into the shifter frame on the right side that holds the two pieces together. there are no nuts on the other end cause the metal itself is taped. take them out and locktite them. or atleast next time you have your car in the air check to make sure they are not coming loose. they are located on the passenger side. i have the hurst billet shifter. the frame is square!!

After about 4 years, I went from the Hurst Competition/Plus Shifter to their Billet/Plus Shifter and while I was at it, I installed the Che K-Member Brace with Torque Limitors. Quite an improvemet I'd say....!!! As others have said, Tremec suggests that shift stops not be used on their TR 3650 tranny. I didn't think they were necessary anyway so I just left them off. All is well....no rattles at all with this Shifter (Billet) either...
