Well I have had a few minor problems with my 2011 5.0 not anything really bad the Airbag pas side had to be replaced and now I just found out from ford there is a problem with the starters. When I first got the car I used the remote start and it made a hell of a sound. Tried it again and all was good. Then few months later tried to start the car with the key and once again that a scream from the car. (took it to dealer and they didn't find any problem) yesterday I drove to the beach in NC and was stuck in a parking lot, the starter would not in gage. Took the car in to Ford and was told the starter in a known problem and over 300 are on National back order till Dec 20th. Seal9

 

Sometimes my 11 keeps turning as if the starter is hanging. I'm in NC also. Hate you were stranded but at least you were at the beach! lol. My starter doesn't do this all the time,so I was waiting for a while before taking it in. Since you posted that they are on back order I will definitely hold out- hard to do without her. Already spoiled. I hardly ever drive my 91 vert anymore. Hope they get you fixed up!

 

So far, so good on my starter. I hope mine does not fail.

I'm going to keep a following on this and also look to see if there might be a TSB on the starters. If it is a hit-or-miss affair, time will tell since our Coyotes are still new to the scene of mass production for the streets.
