Default speaker issues, brand new 2011

My driver's side upper door speaker keeps cutting in and out. Car is brand new, with 400 miles on it. I have the electronics package and have an appointment with the dealership on Monday. Anyone have any similar problems? Hope it's just a loose connection.

I would assume it's just a minor loose connection or something like that, I haven't heard anybody else with an '11 complain about that and certainly don't have that problem myself. Should hopefully be an easy fix.

Not I.

Doubtful this is a chronic/recall thing, probably just a case of getting a tech with a hang-over to do the wiring though the door first thing Monday morning at the factory.

Offhand I can only think of 4 possible things wrong. Pinched wire, loose contact, problem with mini amp on the driverīs side, or the HU(head-unit) itself. If itīs cutting in and out only to bumps or bass, thatīd narrow it down the the first 2. In any case itīs the dealers problem to solve, so your good to go even if all of the above is the case.

I would not let the dealership touch it.
You will end up with a BO smell you cant get rid of,
a lot of dash/door rattles and squeeks you didnt have
before and a brand new scratch somewhere in your paint
when they return it to you.

They will tear up the interior trying to find the problem.
They will break some of the clips getting it apart or wont get it back together right.
Its not the assembly line worker who does the same job everyday
week in and week out, you are taking it to some underpaid Ford 'tech'.
They will give this job to the least experienced guy in the service dept.

All because a speaker cuts out once in a while.
I guess thats the price some have to pay.
Only 400 miles, exchange it for another new Stang.
One that the stereo works in.
Dont put up with sub par merchandise is my motto.
Monday is D-Day. Dum dum dum dummmmm.
And dont make me laugh with the use of the term 'appointment'.
I worked at a stealership once and know all about their daily going ons.

Your car isn't brand new. It has 400 miles on it. Time to trade.

This is what warranties are for; to take car of the shoddy assembly and manufacturing, poor craftmanship plus those little "infant mortality" failures that ALWAYS pop up somewhere along the line.
