Hood Scoop On An Already Striped Hood?
#11
For the Roush Scoop, it comes with a template that uses the washer nozzles as a guide to show you where to drill the 7 needed holes in your hood. After that, it is a simple matter of bolting it down and using 3M tape on the edges. Takes about 20 minutes to do the whole job. It's pretty easy. Try not to over-tighten the bolts, because it will slightly pull your hood flat under the scoop an create a little gap between the hood and the hood scoop. The hood has a natural curve to it and over-tightening flattens that out.

It can be done. That's what I did on mine when it had stripes. I have the GT scoop, so I had the scoop removed, the underside striped with the rest of the hood, and then the scoop striped seperately and then replaced. It's quite a bit of work, but if you're a perfectionist, I think it looks best. The real hassle is when you decide to remove your stripes; been there, done that.
And yes, due to the opposing curves, you'll see a bit of bunching up of the vinyl at the front of the scoop. On black stripes it's not noticeable unless you're looking at it up close.

I just wanted to echo what Fifthwind said. He is 100% right about the stripe being "crinkled" around the edge of the scoop. My car looks exactly like the photo of his, you cant see it unless you are told its there. im going to follow the same plan as well and cut the stripes around my scoop when i redo them.
