Default Mustang Redesign

(Okay, so maybe I live under a rock... but I can't find any info on this)

I remember reading somewhere that Ford is going to do a ground up styling redesign pretty soon. I also heard that they might not go with a retro look this time, but rather with more of a sleek "sports car" look. Maybe it will be something like the Giugiaro concept... or not...

What year is this happening? Are there any "leaked" artist renderings? Has there been any hints or talk at all about what we might see? I'd be interested in links to any articles at all that talk about this even in a vague way.

Thanks.

I heard that it was happening in 2014 for the 50 th anniversary. I really hope they stay at least a little retro.

It's supposed to be in 2014. They're dropping the retro stuff (which is good, considering even now, the retro theme is starting to get played out) and going with a more modern theme ala probably like how the SN-95's and New Edge's were done...modern, with just slight hints at retro instead of it entirely being totally retro-themed. It's supposed to also finally get IRS.

Since all that CAFE stuff is unknown, though, who knows what engines will be around by that time. I hope they're able to keep the 5.0

The rear end looks too much like a Camaro!

Not bad at all... but it kinda looks like a Camaro with a GT500 front clip. Not sayin that's a bad thing.

I do like those mirror caps though!!!

That's nowhere near the production model. Don't get fooled by that. That looks way too similar to the current gen.

True, to be honest part of me likes the hips of the camaro better than those of the mustang. Just a bit more curvy and tapered which is nice in my book
