Unhappy Taking the Stang in.

I'm going to be taking my car into get the synchros looked at. If any of you have had these replaced how long were you without your car for?

Really not looking forward to being without it, but at least its suppose to be really snowy next week.

Ehhhh what did you do to break them? And what makes you think you need new synchros? Just curious Tanner!

Lmao I don't think I broke them, but when I got the car 5th was already grinding every time I shifted, or any one else. Now 3rd seems to be going out. My car before was a '96 Eclipse 5 speed (over 300,000 miles on it), I drove it for about a yr then I got the Stang. Needless to say driving the Eclipse and the Mustang were worlds apart.

It took me a little while to get use to driving the Mustang, the clutch is quite a bit heavier and just feels completely different from the Eclipse, in a good way. So I may have put some wear on them just really learning how to drive the car well. But now I can get off the line pretty damn good.

Oh and thanks a lot for the add... now after your profile pic I have to add '10 style tail lights to my ever growing list of future mods! Lol Do you have the head lights from Raxiom too?

Dang that sucks I know how you feel. Back in '08 a mom in a Suburban pulled out in front of me and our stock brakes aren't exactly 14" Brembo's..... 1 month later and 1000 more miles put on my previous '98 inline 4 Ranger, and I finally got her back. Hope you don't have to wait too long!

Gotcha, well to start off with the T 5 sucks. Mine grinds going into 3rd more often then not, I'm not worried about it since I'm getting a tranny swap. Of course the clutch is heavier then an import, a man's clutch !

No problem for the add! And yes I love the tails, no I don't have the raxiom headlights. I don't care for projectors and I have HIDs for the stock H13 bulb, the Raxioms use a different bulb type!

Yeah my friend is quite the Mustang nut too and he keeps telling me what a POS my transmission is. Eventually I will get a new one, but for now I just want them to fix the stupid thing. I hate it cause it really sounds like I just don't know how to drive my car. Lol

Don't they normally just swap out your transmission with a rebuilt one and take yours for core? If that's the case, I would think that a decent transmission shop would be able to have your car back with a couple of days, especially if it's a common transmission like a T5.

Haha, my transmission fails too. It is kind of rough whenever it shifts 3-4, 4-5. It almost jerks the whole car under heavy acceleration. Getting on the highway the other day with my friend and once I got to 60 and the car jerked he thought something had broken.
