Midwest Ice Storm = NO FUN
I was suppose to work from home, but the one time my internet craps out is during the blizzard!
My company can NEVER close. I am a part of the disaster relief team that work from home when crap like this happens.
So as committed I am to my job,(Or need to be committed to a mental institute, lol) I dug out and made the 43 mile trip to work. This was about noon so the roads were a little better.
No Mustang, I retired her from winter duty a few years back, so it was my 94 accord on snow tires.
I think we ended up with 22" of snow, not the norm for Chicagoland

Then finally to entrance to work

You jack-asses! I blame you for what has happened to me! All of you! You all can take your snow back!
I kid.
This morning, we had a very very very rare event. It actually snowed at my house. According to the weather folks, the weather we have in Texas is a once in a 30 year event.
Due to a lack of snow equipment (sufficient amounts of salt and deicers, the bridges not being built with built-in de-icing equipment, not enough snow trucks and plows), the vast majority of our roads are unsuitable for driving. Since it does not snow in Texas, we simply do not stock enough snow equipment for such a rare event. And as a result, all the bridges are closed. And worse, there are morons who are attempting to drive in this S*** anyway. 2 people have died so far, several roll-overs, and hundreds of various other collisions. Texans just do not know how to drive in this stuff.
And because of this, I had to call my work and tell them I cannot make it in.
Here is a pic of my 'Stang looking all sad in its stable, any step out and it will slide down that inclined driveway, across the street, and T-bone the car parked on the curb on the other side of that street.
