I just cannot imagine driving an automatic mustang GT, and I can't imagine it being near as fun, but my left foot is killing me everyday! Help! Should I trade my car in, or deal with the traffic mess daily?? Thanks!
If your trading it in on a "11" or "12"....you will enjoy an auto and remedy your dilemma!

I think the question is, is it worth it to you to go through all the trouble to trade it in. Unless you do plan on upgrading to a 11-12 like daredevil said then I personally don't think it's worth it. You have to pay to play and sometime you have to hurt/be uncomfortable to play. You could also buy a decent beater if that would work for you. I avoid rush hour like the plague, but I dont need to go through rush hour like you probably do. Traffic where I am at in rush hour isnt bad at all either, if you saw the rush hour here you would laugh and you wouldn't have this problem.

Driving an auto is plenty fun.

Me thinks you need to start doing some leg stretches before you leave, lol!

When in stop and go traffic, I tend to slip it to neutral as I slow.....there is a sweet spot where it slides out of gear real easy. Then, I do not hold the clutch while stopped. When things move more than a car length, I then shift into gear, sometimes 2nd to start off and save another shift. I find this saves some leg wear and tear.....then, when things open up, I go playing...

Getting a commuter car is a great suggestion. A couple years ago I traveled 50 miles / 50 minutes each way to work a day. I have few different cars and the only automatic vehicle I have is a full size 2001 Ram 1500. I'll have to admit on Friday's and bad weather I usually took the pick-up....that 50 minute ride took about 90 minutes in stop and go traffic. Gas mileage was about 10 miles to a gallon.....choose wisely if you get a commuter car.

A simple way to build up leg strength so your right leg does not look like a stick compared to your left is to walk around the house like a duck!

Of course, you will make an utter fool of yourself in front of your wife and kids, but hey, at least you will never get clutch-leg!

If only these Stangs came with paddle-shift autos like some of the performance Bimmers. Those things shift better and faster than I ever could with a manual.

Ratchet with a tune isn't that bad.
