Default To shift or not to shift

Ok, so I live in Atlanta and the traffic is horrible most every day. Recently, my work commute just changed and it takes me about 50-60 min each way to get to work. I can't move at this time. I have an 06 GT 5 speed and seriously thinking about trading her in for an automatic mustang GT. I just cannot imagine driving an automatic mustang GT, and I can't imagine it being near as fun, but my left foot is killing me everyday! Help! Should I trade my car in, or deal with the traffic mess daily?? Thanks!

I would say deal with it, I do and D.C. Area traffic is one of the worst in the country.

Maybe I should ask if you're intentionally trying to instigate another "auto vs manual" flame war...

enjoy the workout, just remember to do right leg exercises at home so you don't get lopsided

You need to change your shift and clutch technique ... I drive GA 400 everyday during rush hour and have no issue with a manual transmission ... in both a Jeep and my Mustang.

I do I85 / 285 every day in rush hour, its doable.

You will get numb to it eventually...

Fortunately, I don't have to get on the interstate and deal with the stop and go traffic. Every morning, I cross over Hwy. 75 and see all of the red tail lights and am thankful I am not in it! On occassion, I travel into the city and do hit rush hour traffic. My clutch is a lot stiffer than my wife's VW Passat. My a$$ and leg goes numb!!

Hell I do it in summer in heavy traffic and Thumpr cams so have to feather it out slightly everytime.

Worth it to me though.

That being said, my next DD will be auto for first time in years.

@ OP- Please don't start this. You will get opinions from every side. If you don't want to kill your leg and shift through the traffic then get an auto. There alot of fun with a tune. If you think it wont be as fun then stick with the manual and start doing them squats and calve raises at the gym. (:
