Default Throwing Codes After Loading Custom Tune

I loaded up a custom tune last night that was emailed from a pretty reputable place. It's a fairly standard 93 Octane Tune that would also disable my PATS (another thread about that). Nothing that much different from the 93 Octane Tillmanspeed Tune I've been running for the past year.

I loaded the tune and immediately after starting the car, it was sputtering and seemed like it was choking out, even died once while idling. Started driving to see if it would even out and my "check engine" light came on. Plugged in my programmer and read the following DTCs:

PO174 and PO171 (running too lean in banks 1 and 2)

I knew it had to be the tune because it started immediately after loading it. I then programmed back to stock and reloaded my previous tune (not the one that just caused me that problem) and now it's running fine and no codes whatsoever.

What could have caused my car to run like that after I loaded that specific tune? I'm going to email the tuner and let him know what happened because I definitely don't think it was tuned correctly for my vehicle or that wouldn't have happened.

Any thoughts on what may have caused this?

Tune. Do you have a CAI? Did you let the tuner know what engine mods you have?

Yeah, I have a CAI. I told him what my mods were, just wondering if he took those into account when he built the tune. I gave him the computer/strategy code also, as well as the serial number for my programmer.

One day I flashed back to stock with my CAI still on and with the stock tune it ran very similar, sputtering and choking out. It's almost running like a stock tune so I'm wondering what I really got in the tune.

Certainly the tune. Who was it and why did you swap? Unless he fixes it and his tune is as good or better than your previous, I'm not sure I'd call him reputable.

My previous tune which is now loaded again was from tillmanspeed and is awesome. I ordered another from vmptuning to disable my passive anti theft system for my upcoming cluster swap. After I loaded the vmptuning tune and and had those problems I reloaded the tillmanspeed tune. So I'm back to square one right now.
