Hello there,
after a lot of research and 3 weeks with 87 and a week with 93 tune on a Steeda CAI and a STC X3 tune.
The results;
87 OCT tune + Cold air intake over stock = INCOMPARABLE, lots of raw power, a total different car and better mileage than stock.
93 OCT tune + cold air intake over 87 OCT = no difference at all in a day to day drive, also I have put in a highway for a few days, drove fast on a 60 mile trips, tried different gear sets and speeds; the only difference is on high RPM, over 5K, you will feel just a little bit more o power, nothing major at all, gas mileage decreased about 3 miles per gallon, and 93 gas price is also a factor.

Today I program back to 87 OCT and I am much happier, since power difference is not noticeable from 87 to 93, and I opt to use 89 OCT GAS instead of 93 GAS on a 87 OCT tune.

Should be okay.

Safe ride everyone, and please any input will be appreciated.

89 gas with a 87 tune is just a waste of money. You aren't getting any benefit from it. If you use the 87 tune, just use 87 gas.

Is it really a waste of money using a 87 OCT TUNE with any higher octane gas or it would be cleaner and better for the engine to run a higher octane gas?

SECONDLY
Why would I feel NO DIFFERENCE between a 87 to a 93 race tune?
When you answer, please keep in mind that I had a VERY CONSIDERABLE power increase from STOCK to 87 on a 2011 5.0, but when I went form 87 to 93 tune, I felt exactly the same as the 87 tune. STEEDA is saying that it is normal not to feel the difference between their tunes on the 5.0, unless I race, where I would feel it!

I appreciate answers based on experience and knowledge.
Thank you again,
brazeagle

A lot of people say it's a night and day difference between an 87 tune and stock, and I agree, but there's just as much difference between 87 tune and 93 race

There definitely is a much more performance felt difference in the 87 octane tune over the stock tune. But is your 87 octane tune is only for street emissions and economy, no, it will not give you any more power over stock. It all depends on what you request form the tuner.

If you ask for an 87 octane race tune, you will feel the difference for sure.
