Default Metallic grinding noise. Help!

When my car is cold, and in the cold weather, when I start the car, there seems to be a metallic grinding sound coming from the belt area. It seems to get louder with every rotation, as I can see an orange mark on the belt to judge rotation. It slmost sounds like bad brakes grinding the caliper with no pad on the rotor. Help! Thanks!

Could be a pulley or serpentine belt?. Did you inspect the serpentine belt? If that's good then pull the belt off an check each pulley. It could also be the power steering or water pump. These are some areas to check in front of the motor....are you sure it's from the front? Sounds could be deceiving.

Could be....you have to pull the belt off and inspect the pullies. Spin the pullies listen for bearing wear/rough spin feeling or anything else that catches your attention. While the belt is off, start the car up for a few seconds and listen for the noise.

Sometimes it could be the motor/tranny separator plate. I attached some info:

That looks like where my sound is comming from, and my car meets the TSB. Will FORD replace it for Free? Am I damaging the car by driving?

Thanks!

Ok so like that was my noise. Yes it was damaging the friction plate, had to buy a new one, as well as the items on the TSB. I also went ahead and replaced the clutch and throwout bearing since the transmission was already dropped. $1400 later I am back on the road : (
