Default Oil Catch Can install

For all you guys that are F/I with oil catch cans....have you installed an in-line check valve to prevent pressure back to the catch can? If so, can you recommend any particular brand? Also have you upgraded the hoses to something more reinforced to avoid suction collapse? Thanks.

Great thread, but no one spoke of mounting a check valve.

The instructions I have from the AMW Catch Can state: "If running a forced induction vehicle, a check valve should be used in-line to prevent undesired pressure from entering Catch Can. Check valve should be placed between vacuum source and Catch Can."

First time I hear about that...not even sure why you would need that? How would you get pressure in the Catch Can?

i don't think you need the check valve.
you can also do breather catch can, or breathers instead of catch can.

You don't need a check valve. I ended up going with the JLT oil separator. It was a simple install, and the unit was of good quality.
