I also have the Pioneer 3200BT dvd unit also. Its amazing. Bought from crutchfield and installed myself. It was really easy to install. Crutchfields instructions are spot on. I wired up a bypass switch via youtube instructions. Got the parts from radio shack. Really simple, go for it dude.

I went with the Pioneer X920BT and wiring harness from Crutchfield. After going on line with an advisor who was awesome and helped with all the products and wiring required, he realized I was from Canada. He then got all the Canadian equivelant part numbers and e-mailed me the list.

All was awesome. I had some concerns with the Wiring Harness but after one quick call to their service guys, that was easily completed. I did NOT do the bypasss as many have done. Also, I do NOT have the popping that many are talking about so I did not put in the resistor.

You can also check out AVIC411.com for advice on Pioneer products, recalls, tips and tricks and install videos.

Good luck.

This would be because they got you to purchase the PAC harness, which outputs 5v for the factory amps turn-ons.

If I were you, I would give the aftermarket head unit a chance to power the factory speakers before you swap out the speakers. I had a 20% off Pioneer coupon from Amazon, then found the 4200DVD in the Gold Box deals, so I ended up getting it for about $295. It's also upgradeable with bluetooth, nav, and satellite radio.
Exactly what he said. Even better if you already have the Shaker1000 setup

I have my eye on the pioneer 4200dvd. Its a full 7 inch touch screen. has ipod capabilities, and plays dvds, mp3s, has a spot for an sd card. The thing is pretty awesome. and for under 300 bucks? Thats insane. Im thinking of getting a factory refurb for a little over 300. Cant wait!

I didn't have to either, but I also used the PAC harness. Made everything extremely easy, so for simplicity I would suggest using it.

WWW.CrutchField.com ForTheWin Hands Down.
I have been dealing with them for almost
20 years doing purchases and installs for friends
and Crutchfield has not let me down once.
Their return policy is the best as well...
