Need radar detector help
Sorry Bro, can't agree after using the Escort 9500ix. In the past, the V1 was possibly the best there was, but with the 9500ix, Escort surpasses Valentine. And for pure range, the Escort Redline is without doubt the King of the hill. Just my $.02 worth.
Thank you. It's nice to see that someone actually did their research instead of following everyone else and the magazine ads. In reality the arrow gimmick is just that. Now that V1 doesn't have the only detector with dual antennas they don't really have anything on other brands.

at the time i bought my V1 it was the only one with arrows. thats what sold me on it plus at the time it had the best range. i didnt realize the new passports had arrows too thats cool. and the gps thing does sound very useful. if mine ever breaks ill prob end up buying one but i dont see how thatll happen lol

I was having a real bad luck with speeding tickets all my life. Decided to get the Escort 9500ix. 3 years ago. This was the best auto investment ever. My Stang GT has 100000 miles now, and I do not pay much attention to sped limits now, ever... Have not had a single speeding ticket yet. Drove across US coast to coast last summer. You don't wanna know the average speed the instruments were telling me, and this is over 8000 miles of driving. I would not trade my 9500ix for anything else. I dropped it a couple of times, still works. GPS thing on it is indispensible, I would not know how to drive without it. Got mine on eBay, about 100-150$ less than store prices around here... JUST GET IT - ITS REALLY WORTH IT!
PS: about speeding. Sure, speed kills, but I would rather think about driving when I drive, instead of constantly scanning the sides of the road for cops. I live in NJ, and everyone speeds here anyway...

A couple years ago I was going 77 in a 55. About the time I realized this radar detector was useless since there were few cars on the road with me, it went off. And I got a ticket.
Remember folks...that detector is there to detect somebody else getting radar'd. If you're the only car out there, you may as well not have a radar detector.
Further note...in some places LE is trained to visually recognize estimate car speeds within about 10 mph. If you're speeding very bad, they can tell just by looking (although they'll need to radar or laser you to write a ticket). The point being - that they can pick you out of the crowd and radar/laser just you. So even with a handful of cars around its possible to still get caught.
