Feelin' ambitious...
now you're talking.. I want to see the end result of that. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I had a few mods in my head that I never got to do.
paint the steering wheel inserts red and replace the stitching with red string, replace the door vinyl with red leather. Just never found the time to do it. I agree with you on over doing it. too much would spoil it. I wouldn't go as far as painting to match the air vents, switch bezels etc.

As of now I'm going all chrome or as close as I can get (noone makes chrome paint?) except for the steering wheel and vents which will be yellow and black...center console and such will have to wait.
Got my interior trim welt today and it is more of a Grabber Orange than a Screaming Yellow!...I decided to test fit it and have it painted because I looked all over and could not find any yellow trim welt ANYWHERE!!!! Pics will probably be updated tomorrow as I document my valve cover painting and then sunday I'm doing my lights with Niteshade...for those who are interested if anyone, haha
Oh and I'm painting the center console trim and center trim yellow as well...I think it'll look good but we'll see. Should def. stand out for shows and such!

I am NOT going to attempt a color match on the center trim and console after speaking with my body guy. It's just too risky and the paint is too expensive for me to give that a shot. I am still going to do the steer wheel covers though and I am also Painting my trim welt to match as well. Everything else is still going "chrome" as of now. I am too worried about the paint cracking so I'm going to let someone else be the guinea pig for this one. Sorry guys. Still painting a bunch of stuff though! haha... and if any of you are planning on attempting something like this, talk to someone at a body shop and get some tips. I've learned a lot of stuff these past couple days just stopping up and asking him questions.

ummm.. you ever tried https://www.paintscratch.com/ ?
your D6 Screamin Yellow 12.5 oz. Basecoat Spray Can @ $24.95
Clearcoat @ $12.25 (Duplicolor Laqcquer) DPL106 Clear
I purchased locally at the Advanced Auto a Duplicolor Adhesion Promotor for plastic parts interior/exterior for like $9.00
I've purchased several times from these guys, reputable imo.. and if done correctly.. (very light - multiple passes) there should be enough to do several pieces with a can.. in fact i did 2 sets of speaker rings, set of door switch trims, set of door lock pin buckets, shift boot trim bezel, shift **** eyes, front running pony cover, 2- antenna surrounds, license plate frame, 3- 4.6L emblems, 2- 1/25 scale models , a 1/64 scale matchbox, a pinewood derby car...
and i had to learn the hard way to use light passes, so a couple of these were very very heavy coats.. this all from one can.. i just now bought another set of cans cause i'm playing around with the vent louvers and plenum cover and the center overhead console (with map lights and motion censors) and now the IUP Steering Wheel Spoke covers, and anything else i can pry up with my grubby hands.. lol BUT I WON'T OVER-DO IT! i promise.. lol
