in all honesty though, i completely understand, its hard enough to see out to begin with, much less trying to drive removing 4 or 6 inches of viewing area .. it'd start to feel like you were looking out a turret slot.. hey.. then you could mount guns to the front and shoot anything out of your way! rofl...
Reese Bobby, is that you!? haha...too true about the gun statement, lol

And the first thing you gotta learn if you're gonna be a racecar driver, is that you don't listen to losers like your know-it-all teacher here.

Absolutely, I will never get rid of those stripes! I love them! I would probably have them painted on both sides of the hood and paint them on the car (they are vinyl )

While I enjoy my current job and am doing well, I'm in the process of getting a job that would be a substantial pay increase so if I were to get it things will get very interesting quickly! haha

good call, i think it'd rock with a big ole cowl and stripes..

and good luck with the job hunt.. i completely know what you mean there.. its taken me many years to get to this point of a decent job and being able to do what i want (within reason) i mean, i still want a '69 or '70 fastback also.. so i'm still a few years away from that kind of freedom.. but i'm modin' the hell outa this one..

Time for the weekend update. I decided to paint my calipers red this weekend and ran into trouble with the front tires as you can read in my other post. They turned out great and only cost me ~$20 and 1 hours work. Not too bad if you ask me! Here's some pics:

Who needs tape? Giant Eagle bag's FTW! and yes, I know my car is filthy, you try working 2 full time jobs and getting projects done. Doesn't leave much time for cleaning! haha (I'm making time tomorrow morning for that)

Damn! That caliper turned out great. Did you use the caliper spray paint or the brush on one? I have the red Duplicolor caliper paint kit that uses the brush on paint. I haven't used it yet as I think it may show the brush marks and look stupid.

Mean, I went with Red because it will stand out, my only other options were silver, black and yellow which would just blend in and not be a focal point at all and graphically speaking red, yellow, black is a great combo.

DRS, I used that exact kit. I covered the caliper over the first pass and moved from wheel to wheel eventually applying a second, medium heavy coat and a third heavy coat. I still have 1/2 of the paint left! Just make sure you do your final brush strokes evenly across the caliper and you won't see any marks (this is final as in EVERY coats last touching up before moving on to the next wheel)
