You rev to 3k just to avoid the skip shift? Seems a bit unnecessary. Dude, just shift normal and I bet 9.5 times out of 10 you won't engage it, and even if you do....its really not a big deal, lol.

Think i read around here somewhere to make sure you reset the gauge to 0.00 after you fill up.
I was getting a crappy reading too and now i am getting a good reading.

also do hand calcs when you fill up, the onboard usually reports 1-2 mpgs lower than what the cars really getting ( least in my experience )
Damn, If that really is the case then it just might be regulated to weekend driving! lol.

I think he meant 1-2 mpg lower as in worse than actual. Just hand calculate your fuel economy then you'll know for sure whats going on. I wouldn't trust the computer.

Just curious why you'd think that the engine idling with the car stationary WOULDN'T subtract from fuel mileage.

I was also wondering if your numbers that you quoted are the average reading from the on-board with the on-board being reset only at each fill-up, reset more frequently or not reset at all. Your best bet is to reset the on-board at the pump after filling up and not touching it until the next fill-up. Also, it takes quite a few data points (fill-ups) to get close to an idea of your average fuel mileage.
