Quick question
Ok so I washed my car today but other than that I did nothing and now my map lights won't shut off and my alarm keeps going off (just a warning not all out) and sending me a message that my passenger door is open and its def. not. I detached the harness for the lights and even went as far to sit there beside my car after I locked it and waited for it to go off. 2 minutes later, it went off and absolutely nothing happened. I'm going to go to the shop where I had my alarm installed and have them take a look at it but other than that, any suggestions?

Hmmmm, got me there. Would/could any paints, solvents, etc. come into close proximity to any wiring, etc. in the process of the recent enhancements? Did you have to unhook the battery, & would that have tripped some sort of reset or re-calibration or something when power was restored?
Merely throwing stuff @ the wall, not sure if anything will stick. This sorta thing isn't really my dept., but good luck.

I had to remove the batter last week when I painted the valve covers but this just showed up today so I doubt that has anything to do with it and I haven't done anything that has to do with the electronics...I'm lost

Sounds like a bad door switch to me. You might have got it wet in the wash or something, that's why you are getting the door is open signal when it is closed along with the interior lights staying on. Never have looked at our stangs to see what kind it is...most cars have the old plunger switch in the door frame. Hope this helps BJ.

Also check the passenger side carpet by the kickpanel for moisture. Take a tissue and dab the carpet. Hopefully it's the door switch and not the "dreaded you-know-what" TSB issue.

I was waiting for that, but in this case I believe it is very possible especially since it was after a wash!
