Default Problem with my 2010

last year, at random times (not always) i'd get in my car, and just turning the key, turning on the battery, there would bea loud knocking sound coming from the dashboard. after a few seconds it would stop. A/C and the Heater isn't on, so i don't believe it to be a fan problem. i had brought it to ford but when i did i couldn't get the noise to come up again and it was fine for a year. Few days ago it started up again, same way. just turning the key. again not alyways happening. took a few start ups for my dad to hear what it was. he has no clue. neither do i and its bugging the **** out of me. does anybody know?

I'm having the same issue. It didn't do it until a month ago. I have a 2010 GT with almost 50,000 miles on it with no issues but this one. It's starting to **** me off.

Hi
I have been having the same problem on my 2010 as well. I searched for a solution a couple weeks ago and it seems the dealer should be able to take care of this under warranty. I remember reading that it was a busted relay or something of that sort in the A/C unit.
I havent taken my car in yet but apparently most dealers know about this problem and it shouldnt be a big deal. Cant find the exact link where I got this info but you should be able to find results by googling "2010 mustang a/c rattle / click " or something along those lines.

I have an 09 that just started doing it as well. Sounds like ford has a relay issue starting. I've only had the car a couple days. DOH! Has anyone gotten theirs fixed to make sure its the A/C relay that's doing it?
