i went through a little bit of this with Doug @ bama... it ultimately came down to me having put a bigger GT500 TB on, and it was faulty.. kept sending me to limp-mode.. (which i REALLY hate).. i ended up taking it off, then put in the race tune with 93 oct. and everything worked out.. i know there were some ECU issues with the 2008 models.. but now i'm s/c and dyno tuned with Brenspeed.. no problems..

my personal opinon is that it can never be properly tuned without doing it on the dyno..

good luck man..

I was quoted $200 (which Brent wrote me 2 tunes) a 93 race and a 92 mild (which i don't ever plan on using, but just in case). and i got 3 dyno pulls out of it.. but it was discount december and i got it for $100.. yay for discounts!

I had a semi-local guy back when i just had CAI run dynos and he adjusted and played with my fuel mix/ratios.. and he charged me $50 a pull.. we did about 6 of them.. but he was no tune writer.. just played with my tuner..

which brings me to having my own SCT X3 tuner.. don't know what the costs would be without that..

I have a Brenspeed dyno tune and they costs ( well, they did back in May of 2010 when I had it done ) $235 for the dyno time and $75 for the email tune that they build off it from.

But honestly unless you are running forced induction or massive cams, a solid email tune should do you just fine. What all mods do you have?

Whats the story? Might be relevant here if you have an issue. Their is no need to waste money Dyno tuning a lightly modded NA motor. Not to mention the issue's finding a tuner who knows how to tune these cars.
