Default I am going crazy....

I am very sorry to sound lame guys, but I am literally going crazy looking for my Mustang to buy. I have been looking for a 05-09 V6 black or white with low miles for just under a year, and that is everyday jumping online cars.com..autotrader.com//usedcars.com etc... I was hoping going in to buy it for a MAX of 14k which some here found that to be no problem at all, but I guess it is not true. Every v6 i see with around 30k miles is priced at about $16000 , and sometimes up to 18000! They are all up there with GT's with low miles!!!

I have been looking everyyyyday up and down, and no luck with anything..My family has told me to move away from the Mustang, but I cannot do that, it is the only car in this supposed price range that I will ever get...Nothing else. But I have no luck, i guess they all are going to be up in the 16,000's+, so I might have to live with it. It probably is the summertime doing it, but how true is the winter time pricing (Illinois) compared to summertime?legit?Because I had a chance to buy a 07 GT 37k miles last winter for 15,900 OTD with taxes, but I didn't pull the trigger...

Just wanted to share my situation, because that and looking at this forum at your awesome stangs helps me get by everyday...

Thanks!

I got my '05 4.0 with 43k for $10k and change in July of '09. Definitely keep shopping around. Not interested in a GT? You could find one for around $15k now

Could be the summer mark up. High demand car during these months of the year. I'd go to a dealer and tell them what you're willing to pay. They mark them up like that so they can convince people when they drop the price $2-4K that their getting a good deal.

Idk where you are located in Illinois, but I did a Craigslist search for Chicago

$13.5k GT
http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/2435001647.html

$10k V6
http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/2430044320.html

'07 GT Rebuilt Title $12k

I would not shy away from a 4.0 or 4.6 with 50k miles or less.
That is still pretty low miles.
I'll give you this, Mustangs up there seem to be priced quite a bit more than down here in OK.
Use Craigslist, be smart using it, but you will find deals on there.

Wow, seems like you got one hell of a deal. I remember we got mine with about the same milage for like $13.7k in 2008, and I STILL have only seen a few go for that range around here.

I also agree with Tanner. These engines may not be the most powerful things ever, but they will run for quite some time. Even though the 60k milage range is when most of your major services become due, they are still a relatively new car.

Minus a few electronic hiccups that have occurred with mine being an '05 (which seem to have solved themselves before I could even make an appointment to go to a shop), and a small bit of rust on my rear wheel well (we have 6 cars and only room to fit 3 in a garage) my car has been quite strong. So much so that I think I may actually drive it until the wheels fall off before upgrading to a v8 as this thing has been payed off and I have the luxury of doing all the preventative maintenance on it free where I work.

I want a GT but my pops is stressing me away from it because of the gas and insurance, but I dont think it is that bad of a difference...

Im kind of picky on the whole thing, I really only want white or black, and hoping it was a V6 Pony Package...I was hoping max like 35k miles on the bad boy.

There is a red one around the area going for 12k that has 47k miles...Has all GT parts but is a v6, he gave me a Vin# and it says 13 reports of finding found underneath the car...I am not sure how to exactly get a report on the hole car though...

I have been waiting for this possile deal that i will get lucky on, but it has not come in a year....

$16k is ridiculous. My car was marked at $16k with 12,000miles on it two years ago. The guys at that dealership didn't want to negotiate at all until I was ready to leave. They still wouldn't give me a good deal though. I got it from a different affiliated dealership at $13k.
