Default 05 red leather

im only a few days away from selling my 06 v6 and buying a 05 GT (if i dont back out)

The GT has red leather, the drivers seat is pretty worn out and the passenger seat doesnt look super great.

Is it hard to find take of red leather? i dont want to go with a seat cover again i want to actaully take the old off and put new one, any advice or suggestions?

I had damage to my 06GT red leather seats.

Mine actually BLED when you cleaned them.
You need to test clean these seats first and make sure they do NOT have this problem.
Use a white cloth, use a leather cleaner and conditioner. Mother's or Meguire's or something, and if you see red on the cloth.. you HAVE the problem.

I ended up having to buy leather seats from Katskinz to replace them.
I believe they cost about 1400 bucks installed.

The ford replacement seats are even more expensive.

I tried Lexol leather cleaner on mine and the color bled. Now I use Mequiars Leather Wipes with no problem.

You could go this route for about $500 if nothing shows up on New Take Off or Ebay.

Mine bled with using nothing more than water as well.
Newtakeoff only offers the black or charcoal it seems.

I looked for almost a year before I gave up.
Red is awesome don't get me wrong. But if you want to make sure it stays good looking, make sure you do NOT have the bleeding problem.

Car dealers usually have a guy they call in to repair leather and vinyl on thier used cars. You'd be amazed what those guys can do.

You'd also be amazed at what dealerships REFUSE to do. Especially honoring a warranty sometimes lol!

Seriously though... I got turned down for my seats bleeding under warranty, they said they could not fix it... and interior shops told me they could fix it "temporarily". I was told touching it up would only last for so long and that re doing the entire seat was not even worth it.

That is why I went with the Katzkins on my 06GT.

But truly if the car is under warranty the dealership should REPLACE the seats. Bleeding is not a wear and tear issue.
I had numerous people told me they were turned down under warranty and only a few that said they had theirs replaced under warranty unfortunately though.

You dont even want to know how expensive replacing them with the same stock seats are though... if you think 1400 is expensive for the Katskinz, you better hold on to your *** when you hear the price for the Ford ones.
I believe I was quoted about 900 a seat. That was just for the front seats. It did NOT include the back.
The Katskinz were 1400 with all front seats and the back seat.
And the quality is FAR better on the Katskinz.
