noob coolant question

Exactly - All intercooler systems will be separate systems - at least I've never seen one that shares the systems - so if it is spraying out of a hose while you are looking at it you know which one it is. But when all you see is a puddle under the car and coolant sprayed all over the engine bay, it isn't obvious which one is leaking.

Been there - and had to clean everything off and start trying to figure out where it came from since both reservoirs seemed low. After that - different colors so if it happens again I just need to look at the color and it will tell me which system needs attention and what hoses to start checking.

If you take a look at the GT500 you can see they usually have bright green in the intercooler and a pinkish color for the engine coolant.

Any particular brand I should look at? I was thinking of just getting motorcraft but god knows how much they over charge for it cause the name FORD is on it.

I wouldn't waste my money on water wetter, unless you use it instead of antifreeze. It's not going to make any difference. It doesn't mix well with the Ford coolant, ime.

I'd buy good old prestone antifreeze and do a 50/50 mix or 70/30 if you live where it's warm. Use distilled water.

Just make sure that you always use distilled water in the radiator to prevent minerals buildup.
