Default Code 2014.. perhaps I have CMDP's?

Hello everyone,
I purchased this GT about a month ago, and it immediately threw several codes. This was obviously because of the K&N intake and the Kooks headers I figured. I consulted Bama/AM, and got some tunes ordered. Great service, the tunes arrived yesterday, and I promptly installed. After quite a bit of AWESOME performance testing in some industrial neighborhoods, I got a 2014 code on my way home.

Per my SCT tuner it looks like this references the "intake manifold runner position, sensor/switch ckt, range/perform (B1)." After searching around, it seems another member had a tune ordered and did not ask for CMDP's to be considered on his tune, which of course, I did not either (not knowing if the car had this modification!).

Without removing my entire intake manifold, anyway to guesstimate if I do indeed have the delete plates? I must say, previous owner did basically every bolt on (pullies, header/cats/mufflers, CAI, lowered, bigger rims), except handling mods really, so I wouldn't be surprised if CMDP's were in there...

Any ideas are very appreciated!

Theres a little black motor behind the intake manifold if I remember correctly. If its missing or just unhooked then you have most likely have CMDP's. Sorry I dont have a picture of that.

Thank you! I will check that now, and I am WRONG, I had a brain fart, I checked the code, it is 2015, which seems to indicate the butterfly's? I am thinking that the previous owner installed CMDP's, and then reset the computer (why??) when he sold it.

I am going to go check for this motor. If anyone has any other ideas, I am very thankful.

Sounds like he reloaded the stock tune in the car he sold so he could keep the SCT tuner for his next car. Otherwise he would have to buy a new tuner at ~$399.

Ok see if this makes sense. It appears that the motor is still on there, the silver arms appear to be gone, so it is simply sitting there. Attaches is a pic stolen from TacoBill's writeup, I have drawn a red circle around what I perceive to be gone... From this, wouldn't you assume the best thing to do is contact Bamma and just get my tune modified to include the CMDP's?

Thanks everyone!

Can you tell if there are actually butterflies in the plates? IOW, is that small hinge marked with a yellow dash outside of your red circles still on the plates?

Yes, good question. I just checked, no hinge, nothing at all coming from the back of the plates. I have felt all around it and am convinced that these are indeed aftermarket CMDP's of some sort.

I have contacted Bamma, and have my tunes adjusted and on order. If I had cams I guess I could say I was full bolt in!

Thanks for the input. Once I get the tunes in and on I will update the results.

In closure!

I ordered the new tunes yesterday at about 11AM EST. Bamma had my new tunes by 3PM the SAME DAY. Installed, then had to work in Charlotte, (about an hour away). Drove in traffic, merging, passing, whole gambit, feels awesome. No codes. Id say problem solved!

I am amazed by Bamma's turnaround and service. Amazing!

I see all the great stories about the SCT tuner and BAMA tunes and I wish I had made that choice 3 years ago. Instead I got the Diablo Preditor tuner and an K&N CAI. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot more power with my setup, and the Diablo is very adjustable, for example, I run the 93 octane tune for K&N CAI with firm shift, but have backed the global timing off 6 degrees so I can use 87 octane gas. But still, If I want a custom tune I would have to buy it.

Yes, I dont of course know my actual performance gain, maybe sometime down the road I can hit a dyno, and I have been told that the Predator is the more powerful option by some.. I have to admit that for convenience this was a good option for me. That is amazing that you can run that tune on cheap gas though, I am envious there!
