Default Does a BBK throttle body help with performance?

I have had a few friends tell me they are useless, but looking at the reviews of it says otherwise. What are your thoughts on this? Also, would it work with the K&N Air intake?

I don't think it would make a very big difference naturally aspirated. If you go forced induction, then I could see it having more effect over the stock TB.

I thought originally there were problems with tuning the car with that TB on it.. Maybe it was because it was still NA... I am sure the smarter folks on here will chime in soon enough :-)

Aftermarket TB's add no performance. Your OE TB is quite capable for the amount of air your engine can ingest. Unless you do cams, LT's and some porting you don't need it. Plus, aftermarket TB's have been know to be problematic.

The K&N isn't one of the better CAI's but they're all pretty much equivalent. CAI's provide very little power gain but themselves; maybe 3-5 RWHP. But add a good custom tune to that and your V6 will see gains in the 15-20 RWHP range.

I've got one, but I added a few other things at the same time so I can't specifically say if it works. I added one on my 01 when I had it and noticed a difference, but like previously said I wouldn't bother with it for these, even when comparing numbers I have seen that it will increase hp by maybe 3-5 at very best. Spend the money on something else

Unless you have Charge Motion Deletes and
Cams and Headers and larger Injectors and
maybe a Blower and a Tune, then no a larger
CAI will not help.
If not, spend your $$ other places for increased HP.
If you do, keep your OEM TB and the multitude of
tools needed to install it in your trunk for when
your aftermarket craps out and tries to leave
you stranded on the side of the road....
