Default Seat Belt Indicator

Does anyone know how to permanently shut off the seat belt indicator alarm?

Wearing your seatbelt is pretty important. Do you have a specific reason to need to disable the alarm?

It's in the manual, and involves buckling/unbuckling your seatbelt several times.

Because I put boxes on the passenger seat all the time and the sensor goes off and drives me bananas. I think it would look pretty stupid if I put a seatbelt on a box.

I tried that unbuckling thing they said in the manual, but it's not a permanent thing. It turns on again once the seat position is moved.

I've put seat belts on a box many a time. Those sudden stops and starts could put the box into a nice dash or console, and make it not so pretty. [:@] Haven't done it on the GT, yet, but, wonder if the airbag will deploy for a box?
