There certainly is resistance to paying close to $100/hour for a dealership technician to turn a wrench 8 times to get the old plugs out and 8 more times to get the new ones in, especially when that shop rate is closer to ten times your own hourly rate than only double.

You have to let somebody else drive your car. Not everybody gets comfortable with that.

Ya, plus I just don't trust too many mechanics unless I know them. I know there are a lot of good ones out there, but there are also a lot that will sell you stuff you don't need too.

I would have switched out the plugs while you were taking the trouble to yank them out.
Don't understand people that don't do this lol

I was told by the best mechanic at my dealership he had people and friends that had their plugs break
even after pulling them the first time and putting anti seize on them.
He said some still do even though the anti seize cuts down the amount of ones that do by far.

I believe him too.
The guy is also a friend of mine and he is hands down the best mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

It would make sense... its press fit, you already stretched the fitting once pulling it out, the anti seize helps but I have replaced my plugs multiple times now with only 12k on the car and can tell you that even with anti seize on them, there can still be some resistance. I wouldnt want to stretch that fitting more then once.
