Kinda Stuck
370zeeeez imo are pretty sick rides... but the reviews on them aren't so kind... theres an article(not sure which mag?) on news stands right now reviewing the 370z and Nismo370z... Easy decision to me.. 5.0!!
In my opinion just drive both cars and see which one you prefer. Both cars are beautiful. But like someone said before they are kinda two different classes of cars. When I bought my 07 Gt mustang I traded in my 2005 350z. Even though both cars where rated the same horsepower the 350Z seemed real sluggish compared to the mustang. And nothing compares to the rumble of the mustang V8 motor. I know the 370z is the new breed of the 350 i know that I have never regretted my decision on my Mustang.
A few things that havent been mentioned yet that I feel obligated to-
When you drive a Mustang you drive a piece of history. One of if not the first muscle car, it helped define an entire category of automobile. It is the iconic symbol of a bygone era where Mustangs and Camaros raced from light, listening to the Beach Boys, and then rolled off US 66 and into a drive up burger stand for some fries and a malt. I know yours wouldnt be a '65, but it has that heritage. Its a proud descendant of a long line of championship automobiles. Wherever I go I have people come up and tell me what a nice car I have, not because its a shelby (its just a V6) but because its a MUSTANG. I dont think youd get that in the Z.
Secondly, while I know Nissan has plants in the USA and I know that Ford does some of its manufacturing in Canada, I am proud of the fact that I own an American car. Come make fun of the ricers and imports with us
The points about the Mustang being a functional and viable car are well made. You can fit a set of golf clubs in the back, as well as carry 4 and or have extra space for the drive in movie. Try any of that with a Z and let me know how it goes.
IDK about the market for aftermarket parts for the Z, but the possibilities are endless with a mustang.
That, and my mustang has this awesome feature where when a girl hears the exhaust note her panties come off.
Theres a video on Youtube of a 2010 GT (The 4.6 not the 5.0) being toe to toe with the Z in a drag race and slightly behind in the slalom. When you factor in 100 more horses and maybe a Brembo brake package, the 5.0 will eat your Z and smile while it does it. And thats BEFORE you mod it.

The 370z was a big disappointment in my book.
A doctor friend of mine had a 350, traded it for a 370 and HATED it.
He ended up trading it in for a 2011 V6 Mustang and likes it A LOT better.
He said the new sixxer is better all around hands down.
He said the 3702 seemed sluggish even against the V6 Mustang.
The 370 handles pretty good but with little mods the 5.0 will handle BETTER.
Heck it may already.
Plus the Z's are pretty much topped out from the factory as far as potential without a turbo or a supercharger.
There aren't many mods out there besides those that will make it perform much better than it does now.
The mustang has PLENTY of room for growth with mods!
I must agree with my doctor friend.
If you are deciding between a 370 and 5.0 don't EVEN QUESTION about it anymore.
Get the 5.0 or you will be GREATLY disappointed.
Guaranteed!
And I am not just saying this because I am a Mustang fan.
I appreciate ALL well built vehicles.
5.0 WITHOUT A DOUBT MY FRIEND!
The 370 will be a snack for your 5.0, kinda like I call the new Camaro SS
a snake snack for our GT500 lol!

There's at least some crossover in those crowds. I thought about a 350z when I got my 08. I need someplace to put a carseat though. I dont regret my decision to get a mustang. I still admire a z when i see one on the road. I just dont wish I got one instead and that would be a real tragedy, at least to me.
