You are in for a lot of work and expense. I tried to do the same thing with a 2006 Harley that had been driven into a pond. It will just keep getting worse as the water causes more corrosion in the connections. I wish you the best of luck; I gave up on the "free" Harley and sold it to a scrap yard

The door panels that came with the car were falling apart. Typical with florida heat. I'm kinda cheap so I went to the local fabric shop. I decided to go with black instead of red. $16 dollars later this is what I ended up with. The white around the fabric is glue from the old fabric. It romoves but I didn't get the chance to do so yet. Hopefully they'll hold together.

IMHO that will look pretty nice when you get it done! Not everyone wants to throw money at a problem like that by marching down to the stealership and paying big bucks for a repleacement part. I applaude your ingenuity!

UPDATE

The car is coming along smoothly. In the last 2 days Ive fixed the foglights, front left signal light, drivers electric seat, radio antenna adaptor, and airbag light. Luckily these were all minor fixes. Ive also learned to do body work. The cowl hood that was given to me needed some work. One corner by the windsbield was damaged real bad and the fiberglass was seperating. The hood is almost ready for paint now and you cant tell that the hood was so badly damaged. Im hoping paint goes smooth. Id like to put the car on the road next week to reallu test it out.

My to do list is getting smaller. drivers side window motor and power mirrors is about all thats left besides a little body work. Things have been going real smooth. I hope it continues this way.

I tried test fitting the hood and realized that the factory hood bolts were too big. I bought new bolts and now the bolt holes arent lining up. The hood isnt looking square inside the fenders either. Im thinking that it could be one of a few things. When my last hood came up and smashed the windshield, it slightly bent the hinges. It doesnt look like it would make much of a difference but Im not sure. The guy i bought the hood from had it outside for a while leaned up against a barn. Im thinking that maybe it flexed a little and could be straightened with a little tweeking. When I was trying to test fit, it was just me and my girlfriend. An extra set of hands is greatly needed when trying to line these up without scratching the fenders. Today I have a buddy stopping by to give me a hand. Ill let you all know what our conclusion is.

Btw, the window motor is coming in tomorrow. Price matching is a wonderful thing. Im pretty cheap and any extra savings on a budget build is great.

Well, we got the hood to bolt up. When we closed the hood it didnt sit right. near the windshield it was sitting about a half of an inch high. I removed the hood hinges and they are quite bent. I was going to repair them but decided that new would be the right way to go. Another $50 for my windshield mistake.

As far as the hood being flush at the front, I adjusted the fenders and it looks to sit just right now. Im leaving the fenders unbolted until the new hinges come in to make sure. This will set me back a little longer from putting it on the road. Im thinking it might not see the street until spring with snow on its way. I dont think I could wait that long though.
