Just got off the phone with American Muscle. They said my SCT Xcalibrator 2 might not be compatible with my 08 Mustang. I used it on my 07 Mustang just fine and just plugged it into my 08 and it does turn on.

If they send me the tunes they will charge me the $150 for the tunes, but if they don't work then I'm SOL. Anyone else deal with this issue? Will my tuner work?

I never heard that. Get a 2nd opinion; call Brenspeed.

 

It is for sure!! Check out the web site for SCT, it says it is compatible in the specs

 

SCT emailed me back and said it would be compatible. So I called AM this morning and they are gonna send me my tunes and new tail lights today.

I'm on the fence. I've just sent AM an email explaining my unhappiness. I'll wait and see how they respond. They've been great up until now. Maybe the last couple tune experiences are just growth pains.

Edit: Nothing on the fence. AM is a stand up company. Made everything 100% right.

 

Do you have the latest firmware in the SCT? just curious. While the hardware is compatible, it may require the latest firmware to actually work.

 

Not sure, bought my SCT 2 a few years ago for my 07. I did just send it to SCT to be unlocked so maybe they updated it as well. Not really sure. We'll find out when AM finally sends my tunes.
