I really like the look but I need to know if an additional camber correction kit will be required to prevent premature tire wear. Or is there already enough adjustability in the stock GT suspension to compensate? Anyone who has experience in these matters please let me know. I wanna get some eibach pro-line springs to lower my car, but I can't afford to buy tires every 5000 miles!!!

 

What kind of Springs? I know that I put Steeda Sport Springs on my 01 GT. And I never had to put no different C/C plates or anything but I did do the Steeda X2 Ball Joints. Tell me what Springs you are looking and how much of a drop?

 

i put the eibach pro kit with 18" tires and rims and my mechanic suggested that i put on the camber plates due to wear of the front tires over time. i found it to be unfeasible to buy that kit and have it installed for the cost of what losing a couple thousand miles (if that) on my front tires is gonna be. the car rides fine and i cant even notice it if i really do even need the adjusters.

 

I put Eibach Pro kit springs on mine with no adverse effects on tire wear. Just installed the springs and enjoyed. Didnt even bother with alignment. Front tires looked fine after 10k miles...just my experience(had the springs on @ about 2k). Figured if the tires wore..it give me a reason to upgrade, but no problems here. Upgraded to 18in ASA anyway at about 13k.

Yah. Same ones but in chrome. Wish they did a better job chroming though. In between the spokes was rough unlike the face of the wheel. The black ones look good too I see.

 

how much does it cost to install these if you cannot do them yourself? I know the springs themselves are around 250 or so.

 

Right on...I was hoping that camber wouldn't be issue. My last car was a honda and I put the sport-line springs which freakin SLAMMED it. Needless to say I ate through tires pretty fast at first. I just didn't wanna make the same mistake twice...so I bought a Mustang this time...lol

 

Shop quoted me 250-300. Decided to do it myself. Rears are ez. Find area to put the body on jackstands at the rear and just unbolt the rearend at the lower shockmounts to lower it to remove stock springs and install new ones. Fronts were more of a hassle. There are ball bearings there too that you can spill all over the place if your not careful. Caught me by surprise. You'll need spring compressors to remove stock springs up front. Got mine from Sears.

 

Ball bearings are on the front or rear? (sorry, I'm a little slow. haha)
