Default SAT Fault

I am posting this for my dad....

He has a 2006 Mustang that he got brand new, it now has about 86,000 miles on it. At the time, the Sirius antenna was not standard on the radio, so he had the dealership install an aftermarket antenna and wire it to the Shaker 500.

Within the past few weeks he kept getting a "SAT Fault" message on the screen that would go away on its own either by time or turning the car off. Now the past three days it has not come back. He has called Sirius and they have sent two different resets to the vehicle and that still did not solve the issue.

I personally think there is a kink or small tear in the antenna wire since it is visible. The dealership put the magnetic antenna in the center right above the windshield on the roof. The wire is run along the windshield gap and goes under the section where the two plastic pieces meet. From there it is fished through somewhere and ends up some way to the radio.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

On my sirius, when the antenna was loose I got a message stating "antenna not detected". I've never seen the "sat fault" message, leads me to think it may be an internal problem.

Sat fault usually means you have a bad module.
